iPrescribe exercise
Tech stack upgrades for
expanding health services

THE BRIEF
Founded by physiotherapists, iPrescribe Exercise provides personalised exercise programs by analysing users’ health data, resting heart rate, and any coexisting chronic conditions. Their goal is to help individuals safely achieve the right level of physical activity for their health.
While their existing app was already in the market, their growing needs exposed limitations in their tech stack, preventing them from delivering enhanced services. To overcome these challenges, iPrescribe decided to rebuild their application from the ground up, ensuring a more robust and scalable solution for their users.
THE PROBLEM
The Distance needed to understand the limitations and what they were trying to achieve. They needed to migrate the tech stack and also introduce new products, like the Apple Watch application and a backend CMS. They wanted to provide these products in order to visualise the data they were capturing and offer a wearable version of their application to enhance the user's experience.

"Even when we give them the faintest idea of what we want to achieve, they always come up with a way to do it"

THE SOLUTION
With The Distance's advice, it was decided to re-create the application in a native experience. This allowed them to utilise a lot more of the device's native functionality, and allow them to create an Apple Watch application that integrates seamlessly with the application.
This also gave iPrescribe a good chance to re-design the application, apply their branding and modernise the overall feel of the product. Utilising the native design systems, we were able to produce an enhanced version of their application with the capability to grow.
THE RESULTS
The client was very happy with the products, releasing them to their users. They collected feedback and used the user feedback to suggest changes and enhance the application.
With the success of the application, the company grew and rebranded to EXi. This meant the application had to go through a dramatic design change to coincide with the updated brand.
The Distance and iPrescribe worked together to make this happen efficiently and released it with its new brand and feel.
