THE BRIEF
TrustLinks is a local independent charity in Essex dedicated to improving mental health, wellbeing, and the environment. They offer therapeutic gardening, recovery classes, social activities, employment training, environmental workshops, and more.
They approached us with a clear goal: to develop a digital tool that complements their existing services. They wanted an app that could provide preventative support, help members manage their wellbeing independently, and give practical tools to reduce reliance on statutory mental health services. Essentially, they were looking for a way to scale their support without losing the personal, human touch that makes their charity so effective.
THE PROBLEM
TrustLinks was facing a growing challenge. Demand for their services was increasing, waiting lists were long, and much of the support journey relied on manual processes. While member data already existed in their CRM, CharityLog, there was no mobile integration available to connect that information to a digital experience.
This meant staff were spending valuable time setting up users, duplicating data, and manually directing members to the right resources. Without a seamless way to connect existing systems to a mobile platform, it was difficult to scale support or give members immediate access to wellbeing tools.
TrustLinks needed a solution that could integrate with their existing data, reduce manual effort, and make support more accessible, while still feeling personal and human.

THE SOLUTION
We worked closely with TrustLinks to design a mobile app that puts wellbeing firmly in the hands of its members. The app allows both new and existing users to access a wide range of content and take ownership of their mental health journey.
Key features include:
- Customisable content: TrustLinks can update resources themselves, keeping the app relevant and aligned with their evolving programs.
- Gamification: Activities like growing a virtual tree tie directly to real-world initiatives, reinforcing engagement while reflecting the charity’s environmental focus.
- Accessible support: While the app primarily supports Essex-based members, anyone can benefit from the wellbeing content, helping TrustLinks support a wider audience.
- Deeply integrated: A bespoke integration with CharityLog creates a single source of truth, protects user data, and removes the need for additional admin or duplicate data entry.
The result is a scalable digital tool that complements TrustLinks’ face-to-face offerings while encouraging self-management and proactive engagement.
THE RESULTS
Since its launch, the app has reached roughly 1,000 installs across iOS and Android. It provides direct support to members who are on the waiting list, giving them resources, guidance, and wellbeing activities they can access immediately.
TrustLinks has successfully digitised its content, making it easily manageable and continuously updatable. The app strengthens the charity’s ability to support its community, while also allowing members to engage with wellbeing initiatives in a way that’s flexible, fun, and meaningful.
