Mitsubishi Electric
Digitising sales processes
to eliminate errors

THE BRIEF
Mitsubishi Electric is a global leader in the manufacture and sales of electrical and electronic products, supplying innovative solutions across a wide range of industries. To enhance efficiency within their internal sales and pre-sales teams, they sought to digitise their existing processes - many of which relied on Excel sheets. Their goal was to simplify workflows and reduce errors caused by manual input, ensuring a more seamless and accurate system.
THE PROBLEM
They planned to take these Excel-based tools and develop them into a mobile phone, tablet and web application platform which can be used by both their internal sales teams as well as our customers directly. This would allow them to simplify the process for everyone, have a centralised place for their data, and enable them to increase sales with a self-service system for their customers.

THE SOLUTION
The Distance worked closely with Mitsubishi to get a clear picture of what they needed and who the app was for. With the audience and key use cases in mind, we decided on a web app, a CMS, and a React Native app. This gave Mitsubishi the flexibility to offer both internal and external solutions while keeping everything managed in one central place.
THE RESULTS
Once the original products were created, Mitsubishi went through extensive user testing to validate that the application solved their initial problem. This was an effective way to make sure the application worked whilst being used by the target audience.
As always, changes were applied to the products in order to address any points that were raised to make sure it was simple to use and allowed the internal teams to work efficiently.
