It is with great pleasure that I introduce the latest members of The Distance team, who will be supporting all our apptrepreneurial clients in their mobile adventures.
Ellie – Junior Test Analyst
Ellie has been working with us part-time whilst she completed her degree at York St. John in Computer Science. Now that’s she’s a fully-fledged graduate she has joined the team in a full-time capacity as a Junior Tester. Her eye for detail makes her perfect for identifying (and even resolving) the very few bugs she finds in our developers’ code 😉
I joined The Distance because of the amazing team that helped me discover a career I really enjoy 😀
(Dr) Andy – Senior Backend Developer
With a mixed career as both a lecturer and developer alongside being a well-published Doctor with a thesis in Machine Learning, Andy has joined our merry gang to deliver bespoke backend solutions using The Core (our Javascript-based serverless cloud stack). His skills will be put to use creating custom, complex Lambda functions to deliver the behind the scenes functionality required for our cutting-edge apps.
Right from the start Anthony and The Distance team came across professional and knowledgeable without being too formal or corporate, a really good blend. I’d been looking for a new career opportunity for a while but nowhere else gave off such positive vibes throughout the whole interview process. Being located in the centre of York also didn’t hurt 😉
Ryan – New Business
Having led the sales efforts for various Manchester agencies, Ryan now returns to God’s country to support the onboarding of new clients into The Distance’s fold. Alongside the rest of the Discovery team, he will help our clients shape their visions in MVP apps and beyond.
I recently made the decision to move back to York from Manchester and it was important to find the right company. The Distance really stood out to me; an amazing client portfolio and high standards of work. I instantly felt welcome and part of an amazing team.
Jodi – Junior App Developer
After completing the North Coders Bootcamp, Jodi has joined The Distance to forge a new career in app development. Having only been here a few weeks, she’s already getting stuck in and working through her own JIRA tickets whilst continuing her personal development through our App Academy program.
I’ve been so impressed by the way everyone at The Distance supports and encourages each other – I’m delighted to have joined such a great team for my first job in tech.
