Business Development Manager

The Distance is a creative, digital agency specialising in mobile apps across iOS, Android and Windows. We are seeking an experienced Business Development Manager, who will be focused on selling our leading, cutting edge mobile solutions to new clients in established and newly developing marketplaces. The successful candidate will be taking over the position from our Managing Director as he now needs to curb his sales activities and concentrate on other parts of our growth.

Our Business Development Manager must have an exceptional proven track record of qualifying and closing new business, ideally selling mobile-based solutions, or experience selling technical solutions utilising consultative sales methods to help refine customer requirements.

The position is based in our York head office, but as the majority of our customer base is London & South East focused, we would expect regular train travel to London. In the current climate, we manage a large proportion of our new business through video calls.

You will be able to work as part of our close-knit team but be experienced at managing your own priorities and workload. You will also be comfortable in achieving clearly defined Key Performance Indicators, activity levels and sales targets.

At The Distance we have a strong market position which generates a consistent supply of inbound opportunities generated from our website, which we will expect you to qualify, create estimates and proposals for and of course, close.

Within your sales skill set will be tenacity, excellent communication and presentation skills and a strong work ethic to research, identify and drive outbound campaigns targeting potential customers, meeting our demographic who will benefit from the exciting technology and solutions we can provide. This activity would be supported by our creative and technical teams.
