The Client

York Coffee Emporium was originally set up to serve the gourmet coffee and tea market in the historic city of York. However, they have since expanded to provide freshly roasted coffee offerings to the whole of the UK, through their new ecommerce site.

York Coffee Emporium pride themselves on providing the perfect cup for the individual, whatever that may be. Each coffee for sale comes with a recommended brew guide and strength indicator, to help choose the right coffee. Their coffees are ethically sourced from green coffee buyers who are committed to excellent coffee, excellent standards and paying their farmers an excellent price. They source, roast, package and post the coffee, to ensure that the coffee makes as few journeys as possible once it has left the farm.

York Coffee Emporium is also a UK distributor for Metropolitan Tea, a large Canadian Tea merchant with direct trade links to tea producing areas.

Until I met The Distance my website was flat, boring and hard to navigate – and not a good face for my business. I was reluctant to spend the money on re-design, I mean, how different can a website really be? The answer – VERY! As soon as I saw The Distance’s design plans for my site I was hooked, and have never looked back. I was also pleasantly surprised at their prompt service and innovative ways of driving more traffic to my site.

Now my website is a store front I can be proud of, not embarrassed to let people into. It is easy for the customer to navigate, which improves the image of my business, plus sales have increased significantly! The ongoing support and advice I get is also crucial to a technophobe like me, and I am proud to say I very nearly understand the Internet now! Thanks The Distance!
